Duties:

Set up and deliver catering orders to various events across campus and occasionally off campus. Set up of orders and clean up post events while providing friendly and efficient customer service. Equipment, supplies, beverages and food are transported using the Catering Van and/or carts depending on location; while ensuring food safety and presentation. Regular interaction occurs with Professional Baking Students and Instructors during pickup of deliveries. Catering procedures are used to determine the delivery and set up times contingent on the number and type of orders. Deliver orders on time while providing friendly and efficient customer service, effective time management skills are crucial.

Provide bartending and banquet events service, including setups and breakdowns. Serve tableside for a variety of formality levels of banquet events. Maintain accurate cash sales while using the POS system and during bar service. Maintain linen and equipment inventory levels.

Process catering orders and keep accurate records as outlined in Catering procedures, which requires accurate data entering and editing skills for preparing kitchen orders. Correspond with customers while demonstrating excellent customer service through email and phone and be able to resolve issues and concerns in an effective, positive and timely manner.

Provide coverage while Catering Coordinator is on leave. During their absence; use Microsoft Outlook to manage emails, events and contacts. Create effective signage and send letters to clients which could include quotes. Proven ability to coordinate: catering orders, events, cleanups and delegate casual staff.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 graduation plus Microsoft Office training, FoodSafe and Serving It Right Certification. Minimum six months catering and bartending experience and/or related experience in fine dining or banquets.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office is required with proven effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to switch tasks quickly in a busy working environment. Ability to work unsupervised while following established procedures. Proven accurate cash handling and POS System experience. The ability to lift and move boxes, carts and trays up to 45lbs and to stand/walk for 5-7 hours daily.
 
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bartending/Mixology Course. Testing on Microsoft Office and Communications will be required.
