Duties:

  • Provide welcoming, positive customer service for facility users (e.g., VIU students, employees, and the public);
  • Support facility/events through setup, take down, and user group transitions;
  • Provide information about the VIU gymnasium, programs, services, and memberships;
  • Open or close the facility;
  • General organization and daily cleaning of fitness equipment.

 

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 plus a minimum of 6 college credits and 6 months of recent related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sports and fitness equipment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, staff and community members.
  • Physical ability to complete cleaning tasks and to move equipment such as bleachers.
