Starting Salary
$8,196.30 per assigned course consisting of three workload hours. The rate for any courses requiring fewer or greater hours shall be prorated based on this standard.

Duties:

Teach one or more undergraduate courses in the Anthropology Department. Instruction includes preparation and delivery of lectures, assessment and evaluation of students, facilitation of students' learning, and provision of student support during office hours. The courses will be taught face-to-face, use of the introductory text approved by the Department is required to support integration with other course offerings in the program. If an instructor cannot be found to deliver these courses face to face then online delivery may be considered.

Required Qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in Anthropology from an appropriately accredited institution
  • A record of relevant successful undergraduate teaching
  • Demonstrated knowledge of course content
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver courses that address diverse learning styles and cultural and academic backgrounds
  • Experience using a common learning management system, such as Desire2Learn, Blackboard, or Moodle

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Doctoral specialization in relevant subject area
  • Experience in teaching small classes in an inclusive institutional environment
